Please find our suggested itinerary for this England – Scotland – Wales tour
Please note that this is only a suggestion, the accommodation locations are fixed for this tour but the daily program can vary and can be made according to the interest of your group of course bearing in mind the distances and maximum driving hours:
Early morning arrival to London Heathrow (a pre-tour overnight could be added if the flight arrival time requires it) and drive to the York area via Cambridge. In Cambridge stop for a walk to admire the beautiful architecture and the majestic college buildings.
Overnight in the Leeds area.
Start the day with a walking tour on the cobbled streets of York’s medieval centre and visit the iconic Minster with its medieval stained glass and stone masterpieces. Continue North to Edinburgh, on the way a short stop in Jedburgh to see the picturesque ruins of the abbey.
Overnight in the Edinburgh area
This day have a full day sightseeing in Edinburgh including a walking tour on the Royal Mile. We’d suggest to include 2 entrances in the tour also, please choose according to the group’s interest: Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood House, Royal Yacht Britannia.
For the evening we’d suggest a Scottish Evening, which includes a show (dance and singing), a 4-course meal including wine and water.
Overnight in the Edinburgh area
Continue to the Scottish Highlands, with the first stop at the Forth Rail Bridge, that was opened in 1890 and it remains one of the world’s most distinctive structures. Travel to Scone Palace that was once the crowning pace for Scotland’s kings, then to Pitlochry for a distillery visit, to learn more about this drink also called the “water of life”. Then visit Blair Castle, to learn about the fascinating past of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl.
Overnight in the Aviemore area.
Drive through Inverness, by the mysterious Loch Ness, visit the picturesque ruins of Urquhart Castle, stop in Fort Augustus at the tip of the loch and in Luss by Loch Lomond to enjoy the scenery.
Overnight in the Glasgow area
Drive South to Culzean Castle, visit this fantastic castle of dramatic setting and a superb example of 18th century high-class living. Continue to the Liverpool area for overnight
First visit the nearby Chester for a walking tour in this lovely place of 2000 years of heritage, then continue to North Wales to visit Conwy Castle, one of the magnificent medieval fortresses of Wales, now a World Heritage site.
Return to your hotel in the Liverpool area
Drive to London, on the way stop and visit first Warwick Castle, a majestic fortress with long and fascinating history offering a journey through time. The second stop on the way to London would be at Stratford upon Avon, a picturesque village, Shakespeare’s Birthplace. Visit either the house the famous playwright was born in or the lovely Ann Hathaway Cottage, that was the childhood home of Shakespeare’s wife.
Overnight in London
A full day tour which would first show the most iconic sights of London, like the Parliament Building, Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, St Paul’s Cathedral and then visit Windsor to have a walk in this lovely village and see the Royal Residence of Windsor, the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. See the magnificent State Apartments and the beautiful Gothic St George’s Chapel, (unexpected closures possible).
