SCOTLAND ITINERARY INTRODUCTION TO SCOTLAND
We’d like to suggest the bellow itinerary for your groups planning to visit Scotland. This is not a very long tour and our plan with it is to give a good insight into Scotland, so if your clients like it then next time they could do a longer tour or a different route.
We suggest these tours for around 20-25 persons, that is ideal for the visits included.
Please note that this is only a suggestion, if you like it as it is then that is great, but if you would prefer they could be tailor made according to your group’s specific requests.
1st day – arrival do Edinburgh, transfer to your hotel with a short orientation tour. In the evening Scottish evening with dinner and show at Prestonfield (please check with us if this is on as it is seasonal).
2nd day - Spend the day with visiting some attractions in and around Edinburgh, the Castle, which hosts the Scottish Crown Jewels, then visit Rosslyn Chapel just outside the city with its exquisite carvings and its mysterious history. Then visit Glenkinchie distillery for a wee tour with a tasting. To finish the day off have a lovely private dinner in one of the rooms of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society – this would include a 3 or 4 course dinner and also a whisky tasting – 3, 4 or 5 types from all over Scotland or you can also pick your region if you’d prefer it that way.
3rd day – Leave Edinburgh to drive to the Highlands, first have a stop to see the famous Forth Rail Bridge and then drive to Blair, to visit Blair Castle and learn about the history of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl . Continue to Inverness for overnight
4th day – This day you’d travel up North for a day trip. First to visit Dunrobin Castle, this magnificent building on the seashore with a lovely garden and a fantastic birds of prey flying demonstration (it is at 11.30). Then return to Inverness, but before you do stop at one of the distilleries on the way – Glenmorangie or Dalmore – for a distillery tour and tasting. Free time in Inverness for shopping
5th day - This day you’d have a day trip over the heart of the Highlands to the Isle of Skye. Frist drive by Loch Ness, have some photo stops, then by two smaller lochs and in deep glens (valleys) to get to the lovely Eilean Donan Castle, one of the most iconic images of Scotland. After visiting the castle drive to the Isle of Skye . Afternoon return to Inverness
6th day – Leave Inverness and drive South, have a stop at the House of Bruar for shopping and then at Scone Palace to visit the site where the kings of Scotland were crowned. The palace has a great collection of arts and antiques. Overnight in the Stirling area.
7th day – in the morning visit Stirling Castle this great symbol of Scottish independence with its magnificent views on the surrounding countryside and then continue to Edinburgh airport. Departure
