Gatwick, Stansted & Luton Group Transfers by Coach

Heathrow gets most of the attention, but plenty of groups fly from London's other airports. If you're organising Gatwick group transfers, or getting a team, tour party or wedding crowd to Stansted or Luton, booking a private coach or minibus is usually the simplest way to move everyone together. This guide explains how airport coach hire in London works for Gatwick, Stansted and Luton, which vehicle size suits your group, and what to plan for before you book.

At London Travel iN, every vehicle comes with a professional driver, and we run airport transfers to Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City, with meet and greet available.

Why book a coach or minibus for an airport group transfer?

Splitting a group across taxis, trains and ride-hailing apps works for two or three people. For ten, thirty or fifty, it quickly becomes stressful. A private group transfer keeps things simple:

  • Everyone travels together. No one gets lost changing trains or waiting for a second car.

  • One pick-up point, one schedule. Your driver collects the group from a hotel, office, school or home address and goes straight to the terminal.

  • Room for luggage. Larger coaches have dedicated luggage holds, which matters with suitcases, ski bags or equipment.

  • One booking and one point of contact. Ideal for tour leaders, PAs and event planners managing a passenger list.

  • Door-to-door from across Greater London. No need to get the whole group to a central station first.

If you're flying from Heathrow instead, see our guide to Heathrow group transfers.

Gatwick, Stansted and Luton: what group organisers should know

Each airport sits on a different side of London, so your pick-up location makes a real difference to the journey.

Gatwick group transfers

Gatwick is south of London in West Sussex, with two terminals: North and South. Always confirm which terminal your airline uses, because the drop-off and meeting points differ. Gatwick is a natural fit for groups based in south London and Surrey.

Stansted group transfers

Stansted is north-east of London in Essex and is a major base for low-cost European flights. Many of those flights leave early in the morning, so early pick-ups are common. Build in plenty of time, especially when collecting from several addresses.

Luton group transfers

Luton Airport is north of London in Bedfordshire. It's popular for European holidays, school trips and sports tours. As with Stansted, allow for traffic on the way out of London at busy times.

Which vehicle suits your group?

The right vehicle depends on passenger numbers and luggage. Our fleet includes:

  • 8-seat MPVs (Mercedes V-Class / Viano) – small families or executive groups.

  • 16-seat minibuses – sports teams, friends' trips and small corporate groups. See minibus hire in London.

  • 29- and 33-seat midi coaches – mid-sized groups such as school classes or wedding parties.

  • 53- to 68-seat coaches – large tour groups, conferences and school year groups, with large luggage holds. See coach hire in London.

  • Wheelchair-accessible vehicles – available on request.

As a rule of thumb, don't book a vehicle with exactly as many seats as passengers if everyone has a large suitcase. Tell us about your luggage and we'll recommend the right size. Still unsure? Read Coach or Minibus? How to Choose the Right Vehicle for Your Group, or browse our vehicles.

Planning tips for a smooth airport group transfer

Before you book

  • Confirm flight numbers and terminals for everyone in the group.

  • Count passengers and bags, including hold luggage, hand luggage and any oversized items such as golf bags, instruments or sports equipment.

  • List every pick-up address. Multiple stops add time, so plan the order in advance.

  • Mention accessibility needs early so we can allocate the right vehicle.

For departures

  • Work back from your airline's recommended check-in time and allow extra time for London traffic.

  • Agree a firm meeting time with the group, and share the driver's details with your group leader.

For arrivals

  • Share the flight number so arrival times can be tracked.

  • Ask about meet and greet, where a driver meets the group in the arrivals hall and walks you to the vehicle.

  • Agree a clear meeting point and keep a phone on for the group leader.

Return journeys

If the group is flying out and back, book both legs at the same time. It saves time and means your return transfer is confirmed before you leave.
